the reason u rarely hear that someone has been completely eaten by a GW is that they actually dont want to eat us. they eat seals for the fat (they need it to stay warm in the depths) just as much as they do for the flesh unfortunately, for them and us, they dont have hands to grab onto something so that they can tell if it would be beneficial to eat it, so instead they bite it its why most shark attacks are just on a hand or leg and the person usually only dies if they bleed out in the water :)
