i tried this one at guitar center today, i gotta say, i like the original les paul slash standard alot better, this one has their new weight-relief system and it just doesn't feel as good as the original, but i guess its just a personal thing...

No they dont, the epiphone gold is more yellow, this one is more orange, they look niothing alike,

Hey thanks, yea, I got the last one from Ottawa.
To be honest its a great sounding guitar and the value is really on the finnish, electronics and the fact that is slas's.
However, this is not the best guitar to play metal stuff. I actually was debating between this one and a les paul faded. That guitar screamed a lot. Its a question of taste.
