I dispute this totally. The only reaason that people see it as a gateway drug is that it is lumped as an illegal drug. Therefore the use of such a plant is not removed from atmospheres which champion and promote the excessive use of many substances. The drug is not a gateway, but the prohibition of it is. Drugs are NOT bad full stop. In essence, the drug allowed them to see the hypocrisy of governmental prohibition.

The fact is, you want that to be true for everyone. But it isn't. To some people (not you), weed IS the gateway drug. People who easily get hooked on to things. I know several people who, if they hadn't smoking weed, never would have tried shrooms, lsd, extacy and whatnot. Smoking weed breached a border in their mind. "Drugs aren't bad". Psychologically it makes sense. But you like weed and you use it. So you defend it. Also makes Psycological sense.

nope, the gateway drug bullshit is about as transparent as DuPONT's behaviour back when the prohibition started. The fact is that it is the prohibition which makes people progress towards so called "harder" drugs, not weed.
