Ari: EL is spanish comes from Arabic EL-Al.meaning The ALL. As in God. ALif, LAm,Ha. or ALLAH.ELohim etc. EL-Dorado again denotes God. EL(god)do(of)Ra(SUn)DO(of).

Ari: you are very correct

Mr: the guy said if you dont understand the history of religion then you will never understand etymology. The reason elevate means to lift up etc. is all religious. Lift up as in ressurect or accend. The lifting of the soul. The EL is god(soul).EL chooses you. El-ects you. El(god) is energy therefore El is Elect-ric.Get it.Electricity is the movement of god(energy)EL.EEEEEEEEEEEEISrael,Damiel. All have the same root. EL. God,soul. Soul or SOL> SOL means SUn.SOn sound.SOn of God.Gods Word.its deep

Mr: Jesus is not Hebrew name. There isnt even a "J" in the Hebrew Alphabet/ Jesus is a Greek name. The New Testatment was written mainly in Greek. Also EL is from Hebrew. But Hebrew is from Summerian Canaanite script.Phonecians etc. Thats why its called Phonetics.Oh & Latin comes from Greek. Most languages share roots that go back to mostly Egypt believe it or not.

Mr: Eldorado means Land Of Gold because El is the Canaanite high god who was a SUn god. Gold reps the Sun.AUrum(AU-Ra) comes from Egypt. AU is the sun gos Au-ser(osiris) & AU-Set(Isis).The periodic element for gold is Au.Eldorado means God Of Sun.

I know where you're coming from, because I used to assume that aura and Latin aurum must be connected. Then I learned that aura comes from Greek. It's ok to find out that your assumptions are wrong. You don't have to continue down this "maybe they're connected" path just because it seems more interesting. Etymology is a very invloved pursuit involving knowledge of many languages. It's not a field where complete novices should be doubting the scholars just because they have a half-baked hunch.

Some words just have "boring" etymologies. Elevate is e/ex- + levare "to lift." Elect is e/ex- + legere "to choose." Yes, there are words WITHIN words that we use everyday, but it just so happens that all the words you guessed at do not contain the "el" meaning god that is seen in Israel, Michael, Daniel etc. Dictionaries will ineveitably contain some erroneous etymologies, but the vast majority of them are correct, so you should trust the scholarship of experts over your intuition.

Did you ever considered that the dictionary might not be accurate either? Who wrote the dictionary? Where were they educated? Language is very old and constantly being build upon. English is a very strange and complex language.

Spanish comes from Latin, which is an italic language. The term comes from conquerors, not the conquered. Auratus/Aurum/Auriole/Aura. I was making connections with the PARTS of the words that are similar, which suggests familiarity.
