The Actifry was recently featured on BBC's Watchdog consumer programme. There is a safety issue in that the fan inside some of the fryers can jam and potentially cause a fire.

why would you buy this?
seiously, if you eat so much fried food every day that you actively have to try and cut down your oil intake then it's time to look at your diet.
tasty fried food prepared in a normal fryer is fine in moderation.

that's for 1kg of potatoes! For 250-500g it takes 20-30 minutes. Unattended.

I have a cheap Currys deep fat fryer and the chips come out nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Unless you live solely on chips and nothing else, I can't see any health issues using a normal deep fryer. |
