DsL=double super lead
TSL=triple super lead.
It really depends on the cabinet. The real difference between the 2 is one just has an extra channel. If you want excelent tone get celestion speakers, and a 1960A or 1960AV cabinet. THe V stands for vintage, but it supposevly better. But that's not to say the 1960A is bad.

can anyone tell me the REAL tone differences between DSL and TSL?

I can't say the same, I think it's a good amp. I'm Not good enough on guitar to say I can use it to its full potential but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's crap. also some are made in China instead of England, might be the little differences between the manufacturing.

Hello everybody!
I went to the music store last week and told the salesman if the DSL100 he had in the store sounded like the one Rob Math is playing in this video, i would buy it cash right away... I went back home with my $3000... Poor guy tried every guitar in the store to get this sound... I'm disappointed in Marshall... They problaby make good sounding amps for reviews and crap to sell in music stores... My opinion... THX

they go for £500+ now :P

12ax7's on the pre amp?, Marshall's website says this uses ECC83's....

The DSL is more natural, organic sounding. For a heavier, more Metallica like tone, go for the TSL.

they should make a high quality of this

I own a dsl 100 like he's reviewing here. I believe to get the most metal sound out the head plug through a mesa stadard rectifier cab. if gives it so much more bottom end. I dont the mesa but my buddy does and its around the same price as a marshall 1960A. metal I would say yes but it does have quite a bit of midrange because of the EL34's. |
