PAQUIAO VS DE LA HOYA

The Fans of boxing (particularly those of Manny Pacquiao) have barely cooled down after that gut-wrenching (and in my opinion, too easy to have dragged on) bout with David Diaz when here they are again, gaining momentum and heating up blogs and forums about the Pacman's upcoming fight. Last June, hundreds of thousands of Filipinos around the world watched Pacquiao knockout Diaz in the 9th round, signalling a new "pinoy" champ in the lightweight division. It is interesting to note as well the chagrin of those who believed otherwise, that a boxer who just moved up his weight could win against a seasoned fighter like Diaz in his first match in a new division. Now Pacquiao is set to fight once more this year, this time against Oscar De La Hoya...will wonders never cease as mouths dropped open-wide, especially of our western counterparts of boxing aficionados. Right after the match last June, speculations arose on whether the Pacman would move up to the welterweight division and fight De La Hoya, they said it's a long shot. Pacquiao has moved "against the flow" once again.
