Potholer54, you had me at "OH, HOVIND!! WE CAN'T CARBON DATE THIS!!!"
I think I'm in love.

Who cares what you think? Are you an expert in radiometric dating? Have you published any papers on the subject in peer review journals? Do you have any scientific background whatsoever?

uh no, sorry

"Oy, Hovind! We can't carbon date this. There's no *beeping* carbon in it!"
Priceless :)

=You can not scientifically prove it let alone use your five senses to prove it.=
=The Bible has been proven time and time again=
You prove yourself you just assert any ole thing any ole time. Lets cheer your crew Ted Haggard, and Ken Hovind, for moral upstandness. Once again proving christians can assert anything, without rhyme nor reason.

I agree that carbon dating is completely useless. it has been proven inaccurate over and over. and yes i agree that people are "willingly ignorant"

You can not scientifically prove it let alone use your five senses to prove it. But yes calling Him to condemn someone would be in vain. The Bible has been proven time and time again thus proving the truth of the Bible which therefore proves the existence of God

the ruler and space thing didn't get through did it? We can only be certain of things that we create that are withen in our own time and space. the bones were buried x yrs ago. We are only guessing when we say that Carbon dating is accurate , in that we can not see any deflection along the time line that would/could distort the results. the mollusk proves my point, Carbon dating was ballyhooed and being an absolute and never notated with any possible exceptions until this study.

"...the only thing we know for sure about quantification of a measurement is only contained in the realm of our own design..."
In other words, the instruments that measure C-14 ratios are our own design. Yes, you're right, humans designed them. And they work just fine. As for dating techniques greater than 1 mya, please see my video =The Age of Our World Made Easy= on the Potholer54 channel.

It is under some circumstances accurate and scientists take care to only claim its accuracy when accurate. Scientists who dated molluscs with RCD before the resovoir effect was known will be trying to redate the molluscs with other more accurate methods.
That is science for you, working with the best info at the time. As opposed to creationists working with the best guess of sheep herders 6000 years ago, despite evidence its wrong. |
