I agree with the 1st part of your statement. The standards for women are largely unattainable and misleading. Designed to sell magazines etc. Not to spread truth. But I am troubled by your bitter attitude toward men. But you are wrong in your other statement about men. Most are not THAT worried about how we look. We might like to look better but not the same way you women obsess. You see women have traditionally attracted men by how they look. Men have attracted women by what they can do.

I agree. people are so fake these days and the standards for woman to try to live up to a what men see in magazines..its not real. So they are looking for unrealistic qualities. Majority of men are so dumb anyway so it doesnt really matter. With the way life is progressing and how men are getting implants and surgery, they are going to feel just as immasculated by all the fake hot men. Then us woman will expect that as well. Can't fucking wait for that!!!!!!

The very fact that such forms of media and advertising works on people should underline the issue at hand - not the media/advertising.. but the people. It is unfortunate that such a large amount of people are so uneducated. If people were educated in the first place, this form of advertising wouldn't work, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. PRO-Education of foundations, people.

Joke? i think it's good for people to know that photos have been PS'd. Although it seems common sense to us, that's because we've been around it for far longer, probably used the program, and have most likely never looked at those magazines. But a lot of people are so absorbed in those mags and the people in them, that they want to be like them. And the fact that most girls(the main readers) dont know they are graphically enhanced photos makes them believe they're ugly, causing serious probs

...Parents these days don't do shit to raise their kids and when something goes wrong: "oh, it's the media's fault." Well life is tough and you can't just wrap kids in boublewrap so what you have to do it teach them AND STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE!

"PAULnCHERYL2000" you hit the nail on the head and that is that the parents have to teach their kids these things and not ban or even put a disclaimer on everything that might hurt their feelings on lower their self esteem just because most parents are absent from the raising of their children...

warning: this image has been retouched to lower your self esteem hahahahaha thats funny
