Love her, love her, love her!
Not meaning to take away from other
great singers, but in my own opinion,
she was the best the best.

Her voice is amazing. You can hear her pain, and it tugs yours heartstrings. Love it.

I like Aretha and all but hell is she overrated! Billie is the way to go, you can really hear the pain in her voice and can make you cry, which Aretha Franklin never really did.
I don't really care if shes overweight or not lol doesn't really matter when your voice is so damn good!

Te amo Billie

None of the female singers of today could match Lady Day. At all. They could name drop her as an influence all they want, there's nothing in today's "talent" that shows any homage or respect to the interpeters of this music. Thank God for youtube.

Beyonchee as Etta James. What's next? Hannah Montana as Janis Joplin?
Some people deserve to get shot.

As Janis Joplin said, Billie can "milk you" with just two notes. Alot of these singers today scream on stage....lord jesus!! I won't mention any names...but goodness! It's like they are constantly saying..."Look I can Sing!!" Billie was so cool and she just stood there. None of these cartwheels and ass shaking you see today and wind machines you see today!

billie Holliday was plagued by alcohol and drugs, both can puff up the face and make an individual appear overweight.

BILLY HOLIDAY is a classic example of music |
