This music is exalted in the extreme.
What is interesting to me, though, is that Mormons, who hate homos so bad they can taste it, are singing, and with great reverence, mind you, a work by a homo. Yes, Sam Barber was a homo. Queer as a 3 dollar bill. I happen to know this from first hand experience.
So was Tchaikovsky. How is it all of the sign posts of American culture are gay?

the one thing I didn't like is, the fact that the resolution came early on, but it was almost just for fun, that he puts it as a climax!

I agree. Too many concentrations on individual voices. This piece is not about individual voices but about the solemnity of the music.
