I'm more surprised that the violin has the tonal qualities without a sounding board! As for comparison between Sandy and June, why bother? I like both of their voices, Junes just happens to be a bit lower than Sandy's but in some songs it has the power and versatility that Sand's doesn't.

First off, its great! Sounds quite like a mix between Celtic & Arabic.

I'm bound to agree - the band isn't listening to her - the voice has to lead this when it's singing!

sadly this is a mess and June Tabor knows it with the talent on that stage this should be awesome but sadly musically they appear lost and certainly June deserves better than this

totally haunting, gives me shivers, this song really touches something deep inside

This has got to be a tough tune to sing. Cannot comapare the two. Apples and Oranges. But the band is just getting down in those regions where they only seem to go. I live in Nova Scotia, i hear this shit all the time, but Fairport is in another space when they do these type of tunes.

oh june you are my lady...what a voice...this is so wonderful......from a fellow folk singer

It's not fair to critisize June - she is just different! But the whole song hasn't got the dynamic and atmosphere the version with Sandy has got!
