man the pynchon song fits his book so well! same with steinback. amazing homer song. on 1984 radiohead wins me. tom waits will always be excellent! but FF song on MaM have none of the books atmosphere. Not every song of these is good but almost every book of your list is a classic, definitely worth reading!

Gij vreesdet mooglijk voor een spoorwegramp? Maar, Rika, wat kon zaalger voor mij zijn, Dan, onder hels geratel en gestamp, Met u verplet te worden door één trein? Which translates to: You feared a railway disaster? But, Rika, what could be more wonderful to me, Then, with a deafening sound, Be crushed with you by one train? Does that ring a bell..? It's about a girl he once met on a train, and would never see again... in itself rather a Morrissey theme!

Thanks for this effort - however I don't necessarily agree on the link between There is a light that never goes out and Alfred Tennyson's work (or it must have been something Morrissey had said himself). There does seem to be a clear link between the song and a Dutch 19th century poem by Piet Paaltjes called 'Aan Rika' (To Rika). Dutch fans will often know this. An excerpt from the poem goes like this:

Interesting video. Well done. Your video shows us how literature and music are not so different compared to each other, they're just little bit different ways of expressing yourself. Thank you!
