I remember seeing this video in 1984 when I was ten. It was the height of Bruce Springsteen mania, and at that age I obviously didn't understand the real meaning behind his popular, upbeat songs that were being played constantly on MTV.
I do remember seeing this video one night and feeling kind of haunted by it. I guess it was the first time that I started to see there was more to Bruce than meets the eye

I love AC, it has always seen hard times...but it tries...
I would rather have three days in jersey and talk to people...real people..than go to Las Vegas..
Most people in Jersey are very kind and real.

If you say today's music is horrible, you're obviously not listening to the right music.

Finally somebody who sees it the way I do. Today's music is HORRIBLE, kids who haven't listened to classic rock don't know great music.

"I got a job and tried to put my money away, but I got debts that no honest man can pay......."
What a great line from a beautiful, haunting song.

the kids today...man if they put down their "high school musical" crap-o-la and listened to a song like "Atlantic City"...
it would blow their F**king mind!

A really great and underevaluated song. The song that I loved so much when I heard it in 1983. I bought the LP and it was the first of Bruce. Much better than Born in the USA, for me. Unfortunately little known in Europe. |
