I wonder what the score they use in this trailer is called. I love the music they actually used in the movie but I really like this piece that they use here. Anyone know anything about it?

I agree. It should be smart it was based on "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare after all.
Hmmmmn an evening gown made from Slinky's and worn by Anne Francis. Ohhh Murder. :P " Slinky, Slinky, its a wonderful toy....."

And if they remake it they also cant top the special effects of the original. The monster was beautifully drawn and the scenes of them walking through the machinery at 2:10 of the video still fill u with awe and dont look dated or fake at all.I'm beginning to really hate remakes, it started with that horrible remake of Godzilla with Matthew Broderick and then continued with the over the top King Kong that Peter Jackson made. Now The Day the Earth Stood Still is coming out and Im sure Ill hate that

Oh my God! So Frank Drebin came from space! Now that accounts for his weird behaviour.

Two years in the making?

Best sci-fi. (emphasis on Period), especially when you consider when it was made.
The plot will never be topped, if only they would make a Forbidden Planet 2009 (which they where going to do at one point), one that respects and holds true to the original but with the added special effects of today.

Imagine if they didn't have color by the time it was made, it would still be great in black and white

This is great! It inspired Star Trek but don't let that put you off! It's very intelligent for a 50s sci-fi film, in fact it's one of the cleverest sci-fi films I've seen (and I've seen lots). I rank this along Blade Runner, and 2001 as one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made. |
