I have not seen the movie. I looked at the pictures drawn by Zodiac. For some ten years I never met anything like that thinking type. Then in YouTube on HeadDominion's channel I thought that I recognized the voice of Zodiac, later on I didn't find it again.
Nowadays people do not react to fear by rising to the challenge. So Zodiac cannot force others to meet him in intellectual competition - unless he would have changed to run to a positive direction where people still know how to do their best.

Well there is a lot of CGI used in Zodiac but not in obvious and gratuitous ways. It was used to re-create a lot of 1960/70's scenes skylines, street scenes, murder scenes. There's a featurette that details them.

Finally saw this movie last night. If Allen isn't the Zodiac killer then gosh knows what. Maybe not, but seems like a lot of coincidences for him not to be...

i think, david fincher should have got at least an oscar nomination for his directing.
but i didn't like jake gyllenhaal that much in this movie. his performance was very cautious

Many scenes in the film had a real "cgi likeliness to them" was cgi used at all?

No Zodiac did not win or be nominated for any Academy Award, despite being placed on more top ten lists than any other movie, except for "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood".

Yeah, basically all films have some CGI element to them now. I was more getting at full-blown-CGI-without-a-convincing-acting-performance-in-sight type movies. I've recently been REALLY taken by movies like Taxi Driver. So vivid and real on so many levels! I've ordered Zodiac since i first commented, so hopefully the postman will take heed and get it here on the double :P

:) i know what you mean ,i said there was no CGI,that's not true actually, there is CGI but you will never notice it,Fincher is just a master, the details are unbelievable
and no,they don't make them like they used to
the 80's 90 HK flicks from John Woo are still one of the best action movies for me ..
those cool film-noir moveis from the 50's 60's 70's are realy awesome :) Zodiac is also kinda a modern noir ,not like Blood simple but there ya go ^^ enjoy the movie,i could talk loong about it

I really want to see this movie and intend to buy it ASAP. you mention no CGI or over the top action. I don't think that we see enough of those types of movies any more! Personally I'm moving backwards in terms of movies to the 60's and 70's. Hence no CGI, hence VERY refreshing! |
